What we collect and why
Enquiries and quotes
If you email, call, or use a form on this site, we use the details you give us (typically your name, contact number, email, address or job location, and a description of the work) to reply, quote, and, if you instruct us, to carry out electrical work and keep the records we need as a contractor (including certification).
Website logs and security
The site is hosted by SiteGround. The host and our security plugins may record technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, to run and protect the site (for example spam and abuse prevention). Akismet may check comments or form content for spam.
Cookies
We use a cookie tool (Termly) on this site. What is set, and how to change your choice, is explained on our Cookie Policy. Necessary cookies may be needed for the site to work. Analytics or other optional cookies are only used if you allow them through that tool.
Embedded content
Pages may embed content from other sites (for example a map or a video). Those sites may set their own cookies or collect data as if you had visited them directly. We do not control that.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your information. We share it only where needed to run the business or where the law requires it, for example:
- our website host (SiteGround) and essential site plugins (including Termly for cookie consent, and spam filtering)
- our professional advisers or insurers, if a claim or legal issue arises
- certification scheme bodies or building control, where that is part of the electrical work
- the police or a regulator, if we are required to
If you use a payment method we invoice you by, your payment provider processes that payment. We do not store full card numbers on this website.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails and quote records are kept for as long as we need them to deal with the job and any follow-up, then deleted or archived in line with our usual file-keeping. Electrical certificates and related job records are kept for longer because they are evidence of the work and may be needed by you, a landlord, or an insurer. Website security logs are kept for a short period unless we need them to investigate abuse.
Your rights
UK data protection law gives you rights over personal information we hold, including access, correction, erasure in some cases, restriction, and objection to some processing. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
